Traditionally, container carriers have viewed out-of-gauge or over-dimensional cargo as big and difficult. Expensive longshore labor costs will do that, as will the need for special equipment, space utilization concerns and handling difficulties on-board ship. With Contrail, over-dimensional freight never looked so good. Contrail can be built in standard or heavy duty models, each measuring 12-feet wide by 40-feet long. Contrail fits under deck with no modification to container holds or cell guides. It handles like a normal container with standard marine terminal equipment and container gantry cranes. High revenue cargo with no special handling, no ship modification and the same loading/unloading time as standard containers? Yes. Over-dimensional freight never looked so right.
Specialized Contrail units measuring larger than the standard model can be custom engineered to fit your needs. |
